Potato burger buns

The perfect healthy burger bun!

These potato buns are the perfect easy and tasty swap for a a healthier version of burger buns! They only take 5 minutes to prep and less than 20 to bake so you can have these buns ready while you get the rest of your burger ingredients ready.

I love making these for dinner and you can even make them ahead and just reheat them in a pan or airfryer before you are ready to eat them.

Ingredients

  • 250g grated potato

  • 1 egg

  • 60g shredded mozzarella cheese

  • Optional seasoning: 1 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp thyme, 1/2 tsp oregano

Method

  • Grate the potato into a bowl, and use a cheese cloth or sieve to drain as much water out of the potatoes as possible

  • Into a bowl add the drained potato, egg mozzarella and seasoning. Mix well with a spoon

  • Take an oven tray, cover with parchment paper and dollop the potato mix into 2 portions. Use the back of the spoon to flatten it into a circle

  • In a preheated oven bake the potato buns at 180C for 16-20 minutes or until set and slightly golden

FAQS and Tips

  • You can switch up the cheese for cheddar or gouda
